- The new yarn is a 2-ply worsted weight yarn spun from 45% merino, 40% alpaca, and 15% mohair with 225 yards per skein.
- Entrants will need to submit their yarn name with an explanation of their inspiration to info@redbarnyarn.com. Please use “NAME THIS YARN CONTEST SUBMISSION” as the subject line in order to be eligible. While we’re encouraging creativity in all directions, we’d like to remind folks to keep it PG. November 15, 2014. Winners announced 11/25.
- Grand Prize: 1 year subscription to Love of Knitting Magazine; a sweater’s worth of the as-yet-unnamed yarn (7 skeins, 1575 yards), and a special tag with their name on it for the first year of sales following this promotion.

- 3. Mittens in a solid or semi-solid colorway in a Worsted weight (extra credit for using a new-to-you cast on or bind off).
