Welcome to Delusional Knitter Designs!
Below is a sample of my pattern format.
My pattern format is designed to be both aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. If you wish to conserve ink, please review your pdf copy to determine which pages you need to print out.
The cover and second page have photos and an introductory section, which contains information such as finished measurements, gauge, yarn requirements, and construction. Unless otherwise specified, the patterns include both written and charted instructions. Schematics and charts appear on separate pages from written instructions whenever possible, to allow you to print only what is necessary and no photos of the finished item are on these pages.
Micala – $3.00
Micala is a heart shaped shawl knit from the top down beginning with a garter tab. The body is worked in garter stitch and lace with a lace spine.
Comfy garter stitch flows into open and airy lace making this a perfect accessory in early Spring and late Fall. Delicate enough for evening wear and intrepid enough to spice up jeans and a t-shirt.
Charted and full written instructions.
Okun – $3.00
Dr. Brakish Okun first appeared in 1996 in the film Independence Day where he was isolated due to the nature of his work at Area 51. After the war with aliens, he was in a coma for 20 years, reappearing in Independence Day Resurgence. He wakes, screaming to his caregiver placing this cowl around his neck … not because its “itchy” – it’s something much worse – the aliens are back …
Pattern provides instructions for two sizes in two weights of yarn.
Mirabel – $5.00
Mirabel is a crescent shaped garter stitch short row and lace shawl using three colors: a solid/semi-solid, a tonal and a variegated.
Mirabel means “wondrous” and this shawl is just that, the different colored sections flow and glide into one another with a sweeping grace.
An easy knit with constantly changing directions and techniques, Mirabel is simply wonderful to knit!
Lavena – $5.00
Top down construction worked in slipped stitch garter rib for fun to knit texture that does not detract from the yarn color way. Stitch pattern is easily memorized for on the go knitting.
Full “Turnabout” thumb gusset worked in decreases. Working the hand is paused to complete the thumb so that gradient is not interrupted, then picked up again to continue down the hand. Customizable length to use up yarn, perfect for gradient colors.
Complete photo tutorial for thumb.
Kyrahlin – $3.00
Kyrahlin is a fun, funky hat designed especially for wildly variegated yarn! Fun to knit and fun to wear!
Pattern is written for 5 sizes. Uses less than one skein of sport weight sock yarn – make more than one, make one for everyone!
Astrid – $5.00
The meaning of Astrid is Divine Strength. Astrid is an infinity cowl that combines graceful, delicate lace with bold, strong stitch patterns.
It works great with variegated yarn and will also work well with tonal or solid. Uses less than one skein of sock yarn. Great use for that special luxury blend.
Each stitch pattern is a multiple of 2 stitches; this can easily be modified to make a longer or shorter circumference if desired.
Knit in the round with continually changing stitch pattern, it’s the ultimate potato chip knitting at its finest … just one more round … just one more round!
Ainsley – $3.00
Ainsley is a sideways shawlette worked from one side to the other in garter stitch, cast on and bind off only 3 stitches!
The lace design is simple enough to work with variegated yarn. This is the perfect accessory to spice up casual jeans and a t-shirt.
The sample for the pattern was worked in Socks that Rock Lightweight using 340 yds.
Maëlys – $3.00
Maëlys (mah-ay-LEES) is more than a scarf, but not quite a shawlette. It is wide (62”) and shallow (11”) and perfect for one skein of sock yarn that you’d rather display proudly around your neck. It is worked from the bottom up in a lace pattern, then garter stitch and short rows for shaping.
Kahlan – $3.00
Elegant lace mitts with ribbing for a comfortable fit. Optional beading to add delicacy. Available in three sizes, charted and written instructions.
Borderline – $3.00
Borderline is a diagonal striped baby blanket with a striped color sequence that reverses and mimics the sequence on each half of the blanket.
Jadis Earrings – $3.00
Remember Jadis, the wicked White Witch from the Chronicles of Narnia? These earrings reminded me of her: elegant beauty, sparkling snow, eternal winter and just a little chilly.
All Used Up Socks – Free
This pattern is written for one long circular needle, but can be used with any method. This is a great way to use up those ½ skeins of yarn left over after you make a pair of socks!
10 & 0 Gloves – Free
Fun fingerless mitts that you can work up while watching a game of football, or keep your hands warm while sitting on the sidelines. Less than a 50g skein of fingering weight yarn required to complete a pair!
